ROCK is the Student Ministry at Flora United Methodist Church
and Bringhurst United Methodist Church. ROCK is so
much more than a name, it is our Identity.
ROCK stands for Reaching Others for Christ's Kingdom! Matthew 16:18 says, on
this ROCK I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not contain it!
Area students
grade sixth through seniors in high school gather to connect with each other
and with God every week in a fun and relaxing environment.
during our weekly ROCK Group meetings, Junior high (6th through
8th grade) and senior high groups meet for activities and
discussions and we join groups together for a time of food and hanging out
together. Check out some of our upcoming activities and events.
Please bring a swimming suit (conservative
please), a towel, and a BIBLE to the Simpson's this week!

Sunday August 24th, ROCK Group at the
Flora UMC at 5:00p. We will be discussing Ephesians
5:8-14. Watching and relating to Switchfoot’s
“Awakening” video and playing a game of Cat
Poo. See you then.
Sunday August 31st, ROCK Group at the
Flora UMC at 5:00p. We will be discussing Luke
10:38-42. Watching the Stuck in a Rut “Today” video
and playing a game of How Much Can
You Handle. Hope to see you on the Labor Day Weekend.
See You at the Pole is scheduled annually on the
fourth Wednesday in September, which is
September 24, 2008. The suggested starting
time is 7 a.m. Please talk to Adam for more
Information and about how you can be a
leader at See You at the Pole at Carroll Jr/Sr. High.
ATTENTION SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS: Block off
from Noon until 9:00p on Sunday September
28th. We are preparing a Senior
High Spiritual Retreat where we can grow closer together and,
more importantly, closer to Jesus Christ.
More details on this will follow later.
Mark your calendars and stay tuned for
details on the Fall Break Service Trip, October 23rd
and 24th to the Bashor Children's Home in Goshen, IN.
Way to go everyone. Our ROCK auction was a
success thanks to many of you! We raised an
amazing $2,227!!! Thank you all for your help, and for volunteering to serve as a
way to raise funds
for our ministry. We will be discussing near the end of the summer how to best
use these funds to
further our ministry together.
